Your kitchen doesn't always need ripping out and replacing.
Your kitchen doesn't always need ripping out and replacing. If the layout works and the cabinets are still in good condition, a few carefully chosen improvements can completely change how the room looks and feels — often with far less disruption, mess and expense than installing a whole new kitchen.
From new doors and worktops to flooring, decorating, lighting and finishing touches, I can take care of the jobs that bring an existing kitchen back to life.
Tell me what you'd like to change, and I'll take it from there.
But sometimes the expensive bits don't actually need replacing.
If your cabinets and layout are fundamentally sound, we can concentrate the budget on the things you actually see — the doors, handles, worktops, walls, flooring, lighting and finishing details.
The result can be a kitchen that looks dramatically different without unnecessarily throwing away what's already working.
Kitchen Doors & Panels
Replace tired doors, drawer fronts, plinths, end panels and trims to give existing units a completely different appearance.
Worktops
Replace dated or damaged worktops and update the surrounding finishes at the same time.
Handles & Hardware
Sometimes one of the simplest changes makes one of the biggest differences. New handles, hinges and hardware can instantly modernise an older kitchen.
Decorating
Fresh walls, ceilings and woodwork can completely change the feel of the room and tie everything together.
Flooring
Replace tired flooring with practical modern laminate or click LVT for a cleaner, more contemporary finish.
Lighting & Minor Electrical
New light fittings, replacement sockets and switches, under-cabinet lighting and other minor electrical improvements where appropriate.
You don't necessarily need to do everything at once.
Maybe you just want the doors replacing.
Perhaps the worktops are looking tired.
Maybe you've inherited a perfectly decent kitchen that's simply not your taste.
Or perhaps there are half a dozen little things that have annoyed you for years.
That's absolutely fine.
We can look at what you've already got, talk through what you'd like to improve and work out which changes will make the biggest difference.
Your kitchen doesn't have to be falling apart to justify improving it.
Sometimes you've simply looked at the same doors, handles and worktops for long enough.
If the room feels dated, dark or just a bit uninspiring, we can look at ways of modernising it without automatically jumping to the most expensive solution.
Keep what's good. Change what's tired. Make the whole room feel better.
Homes rarely need just one type of trade.
You might want a room decorated but also need new skirting fitted. Your flooring might need replacing while you're updating the room. Or perhaps there are several repairs and improvements you've been putting off because organising different tradespeople feels like more hassle than the jobs themselves.
That's where I can help.
With more than 25 years' experience working in people's homes, I can take care of a wide variety of interior improvement work — giving you one person to deal with from start to finish.
Not Every Kitchen Needs to Become a Major Project
Kitchen Improvements is primarily about updating and improving existing kitchens, rather than selling you a completely new one - If you've purchased one from Wickes, Wren, B&Q, Magnet or DIY Kitchens, I'll happily install this for you.
If what you really need is a major structural renovation, complete redesign, new circuits, extensive plumbing or other specialist work, I'll tell you.
I'd rather recommend the right solution than turn a straightforward job into a massive project.
Matthew Bray Interiors have shown impeccable professionalism and reliability on all the jobs we have worked on for them. They respond quickly and are eager to help get their projects over the line as smoothly as possible. 100% recommend
